Victor Davis Memorial Fund

Each April the Guelph Marlins Aquatic Club hosts the Victor Davis Memorial Cup at the Victor Davis Pool in Guelph. During this event, the Marlin’s make an annual donation to the Victor Davis Memorial Fund.

As a former member of the Guelph Marlin Aquatic Club Victor Davis left an invaluable legacy to amateur sport in Canada: the legacy of his character. Character built on commitment, intensity, discipline, effort, and desire. Character that creates champions. Victor was a champion, a world record holder, and an Olympic gold medalist.

The Victor Davis Memorial Fund was created immediately after Victor's death in November of 1989 to keep alive the spirit and legend of Victor Davis. The fund helps support some of Canada’s finest young and upcoming talents with direct cash donations. Here's info on the application process and past recepients.

Here's an article written by Clifford Barry published in SwimNews December 2009 highlighting the recepients of this award.
