Bethany Flemington and Andrew Ford Compete in Zurich
News date: 01/30/2010Don Burton was selected as coach for the Ontario University Future Stars Tour Team, which competed in Zurich Switzerland at the 19th International IMU Swimming Invitational Jan 30-31.
The 8 member tour team represented some of the top swimmers amongst the 13 varsity teams in Ontario. The team included Marlins Bethany Flemington and Andrew Ford who are members of the University of Guelph swim teams.
Competing against some of the top European swimmers from Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, Belgium, Denmark and Italy as well as from USA, Andrew Ford captured bronze in the 200m individual medley, 5th in the 400m individual medley and 6th in the 200m backstroke. Bethany Flemington placed 4th in the 100m backstroke, missing a third place finish by 1/100 sec, and 4th in the 100m free consolation final (10th overall).
Bethany and Andrew will join the rest of the varsity swim team to compete in the OUA Championships at Brock University Feb 5-7
