Guelph Marlin and Gryphon swimmers Andrew Ford, Matthew Stevenson and Ben Roberts all earned top eight finishes at the first of three Canada Cup meets this year.

Ford captured the title in the men’s 400 individual medley, was third in both the 200m and 100m medley events and eighth in the 100m backstroke.  Matthew Stevenson was fourth in the 200m breaststroke, seventh in the 100m breast, and twelfth in the 50m breast. Ben Roberts was eighth in the 50m backstroke.

Bethany Flemington finished tenth in the 50m back and eleventh in the 100m back.  Chantique Payne placed twelfth in the 50m fly and sixteenth in the 100m freestyle.  Finishing in thirteenth place were Scott Van Doormaal (200m back) and Erin Stamp (50m breast).

The male and female 400m relay teams placed tenth in the men’s division and thirteen in the women’s division.

The men’s relay included the following individuals:  Ford, Stevenson, Van Doormaal, and Grant Harding.  The women’s relay consisted of:  Amber Baird, Stamp, Payne and Flemington.
